Years ago, I had a domain name called DailyDubai.com which is currently parked with no use. What if I make the best use of it. I thought of bringing two Photodubai and Sedubai together.
I have the content the only thing is that I bring them together.
I think it will look fab!
What I have done. I got my supercomputer, so much missed him. Then I fixed the broken crawlers. Also added 2-3 new crawlers, by crawler I mean new property lists to crawl.
I've got so much hope that this is going to work, but as days go by, I find less time to work on it.
Shame on me, Do the job Ali :(
You can click anywhere, I like the concept of Wikipedia, if there is info about something you can click on it and see the details. And it's true that my application should automatically prepare the letters and reminders, but I've learned a lesson long time ago, make everything customizable. Otherwise you will be lost in the requirements. Today they want this, tomorrow they want that, and you never rest in peace.
You know something. Life is just not fair. I made such a good application and no one is there to fill the data. I can't believe it. Within few minutes I draw the diagram of this application and I made it so quickly. I even put tooltip for every element of the application. So I was expecting that it will be easy for anyone to fill the data in my application.
And guess what, my manager told me to do the data entry by myself. Initially I was very unhappy about it. But then I thought I made this application; I should be the happiest user to use it.
Now that I'm writing this post, I have already entered the data of more than 200 units and clients with payment details. Practically everything worked fine. Although I was not in a real estate business but my diagram of database and application was just fine. I had included all the aspects of it.
I must confess. As a person with MCSD.net, I was always afraid of ADO.net. I always tried to do my tasks with the help of ODBC. (Actually for some while I gave up programming, now I'm just back again).
I don't know why I was always confused with ADO.net. You know something; ADO.net (with the help of Visual Studio Env.) made my life much easier.
I now know the reason. I was a classic asp programmer. I was a vb6 programmer. And I was trying to follow my old habits. Now that I've been away for a while, I can easily adopt to new things.
It's been a week that I'm making an application for a developer. What they have asked is pretty simple database. Actually what they have asked was just a form to remind which unit owner have paid their installments and which ones didn't.
They insisted that it's just a one form to remind which installment should be paid by now. So I know exactly what's going to happen. The questions which may rise tomorrow will be
- This installment is for which unit?
- Who is the owner of this unit?
- I want to contact the client to remind him to pay
So it had to be a complete (simple) database. Otherwise tomorrow, as a developer, I will be in trouble. And you know these people. If something goes wrong, they question everything.
