My 7th iPhone app just got published and believe it or not, I'm still hungry for more.
One day, It will be my 100th app. Yeah baby go for it.

Although it has a good dream dictionary inside but the main goal was the beauty for users to experience with effects and transitions.
My biggest app hit is sitting "In Review" since 29th may.

But I'm on track with another iPhone app, the first persian blog iphone app. Bringing Blog, Twitter, Friendfeed, Facebook, Photoblog and even a small online shop together in one app.
I think chinese food is sweet but developing a chinese iphone app is not so sweet ;)
Painful, Simplified and Traditional and no way you understand the language. learning chinese is a real rocket science.
As usual (again) I did something for free and for fun. but it works fine and looks great too.(must wait to see what chinese mate thinks)

The latest iPhone app (and 3rd one) I have developed was not a simple RSS reader. The power of the app was the slideshow player I cloned from its Flash version.
Honestly it was difficult, But it's done. Hopefully after apple approves it, you all can try it. It's beautiful.
After almost 6 years of being Google adsense customer, I have been shocked by their behavoir and poor customer support.
I have 15 facebook app and more than 10 thousand page views.
I thought I can finally start making some money, but google destroyed all my dreams just tonight.
I worked so much for these 15 facebook app and they are useless now, what a waste of time working with google adsense for 6 years.
Waste of time, I don't want to be their customer anymore, not gmail, not search, not anything. I move to microsoft and apple.

now that I'm writing this post there are thirteen applications developed by me in facebook and huge number of users. Overall visit of the applications is around 5 thousand to 7 thousand.
But now I know if I was spending the same time making an iPhone app I would generate more money.

Somehow I don't feel like making app for just fun. but the truth is: it's popular.
Yesterday I began working on this app which users can send some sort of greeting in a funny way to each other.
by the midnight, it was finished and out of the sandbox!

4 o'clock in the morning, another leave day from work.
The application is loading, showing the progress bar, brings more news in lesser time. The application BYPASSES IRANIAN PROXY (hopefully).
Now it rotates on all the tabs, read the news on landscape mode.

After successful launch of my first iPhone app, i decided to start the second one for one of my friends. So it will look like this.

Finally I made it. it took me a longtime to get this done, but finally it's done.
Just for fun and maybe few cents from ads, I made two new facebook applications. There is no philosophy behind it but seems like this kind of applications are popular on facebook, so I thought I get my share out of it. yep
Like it or not, that's the way I live.
Windows 7, Ubuntu and OSX snow leopard.
Windows 7 has got Visual Studio.net 2010 and some big application developments.
Ubuntu has got some experimental projects and Vuze.
but my main platform is the OSX at the moment, used for internet, chat, todo lists, Xcode iPhone development, web development and simply everything.
I have done few experimental applications 3 years ago on Facebook on a trial web host, when the trial was over the applications died, although they had thousands of users.
Last month I'd get time to try the old experience again and bring those apps back to life.
After a month one of them has more than a thousand users
So it seems like a good market but I can't make any money out of it. :(!!!

Well, Like the Facebook application age. I'm discovering a new horizon. iPhone applications.
So by now, This is the most difficult programming language I have been working with. It's so complex.
To do every single thing, I spent hours looking at codes, googleing, trying. Ooof!
But I kinda feel unique. Not everyone writes application for iPhone. So these are the screenshots of my first iPhone application.
It's a News RSS reader with functionality to play Audio and Video.
Three years ago I have developed few facebook application on a trial hosting space. I had to delete them because the trial contract expired.
But I had the source code and recoverd the application again. before deleting it, The application had 65 thousand users.
Now, without any advertisment and listing, within few days, It attracted nearly 500 users.

In today's troubled property market, making the right choice is the hardest thing.
Dubai has suffered from the market down turn too, but geopolitically and financially Dubai still has a major role in the Middle East. Studies show the massive population of expats cannot leave the city easily and hopefully gold rush age comes back again.
Making the right choice in finding a right property, this is the reason behind the idea to make something that didn't exist before.
Imagine there are thousands of Real Estate agencies working in Dubai, each has got its own website and property list. To make the right choice, you have to go through all of them one by one and search for your lifetime purchase.
It makes life difficult. Practically web is useless in the property market. The easy solution to this is to list your property in a listing such as Gulfnews classifieds or similar online listings.
By accepting the fact that your website is useless you are actually accepting that all the budget you spent on designing your own property listing has gone wasted.
There is another solution to this, which has been already discovered, a Search Engine. To this date, we have Image Search, Book Search and ... But not a Property Search Engine.
Why? The answer is more technical. Indexing a Property list is not as simple as indexing a normal webpage. It needs reverse engineering to get to the actual database.
In Sedubai, we do the difficult part. We index property lists in Dubai and combine all the available results to bring a single, complete and practical tool for Dubai Property Market.

I just got an idea.
Years ago, I had a domain name called DailyDubai.com which is currently parked with no use. What if I make the best use of it. I thought of bringing two Photodubai and Sedubai together.
I have the content the only thing is that I bring them together.
I think it will look fab!

Since the market is not so good, I thought of a new strategy. If the market recovers by 3Q of 2010, and if I rely on the data by then, when the market recovers the I will work more on the functionality.
What I have done. I got my supercomputer, so much missed him. Then I fixed the broken crawlers. Also added 2-3 new crawlers, by crawler I mean new property lists to crawl.
I've got so much hope that this is going to work, but as days go by, I find less time to work on it.

So now I have a Search engine, fully functional, not perfect but exists as a piece of art and hard work. Now I have to convince myself that it wasn't a mistake. I must hope market will be in my favor again. I must hope ...
The only thing we can rely on is Knowledge and Information,in my opinion.
There is a fact that should not be forgotten, we humans multiply and need somewhere to live. We might watch less movies or not waste our money in a useless market, But we need a place to live.
Whether it's Dubai or London or Delhi or North pole, still we need a tiny place to live. So the property market is never going to be out dated.
People leave because they don't know what to do. No one can guarantee the destination is a better place.
The economy can not take the sun, sand and beach away.
The business can easily survive because Dubai was and is still the business hub of the whole middle east population.
Dubai can survive, Why it is not doing so is lack of knowledge.
If people know how to live cheaper, Landlords know how to be more fair, Government knows how to divert the trouble and make something out of it, then there won't be any problem.
There is always a chance to make something out of nothing.
I make Information easily accessible by bringing them all together in one place and give it an extra touch.

There has been a thousand minor fixes.
The spell checker works so so good now.
There is an empty result page now.
The interface is so so good now.
The price functions properly now.
You can see the latest crawler status now. What lists are indexed and the details.
There is a Help page, About page, ...
The dictionary is more complete now.
What kept me awake every night was the Search box analyzer. The way it finds type, location, and price. It was a nightmare how to deal with different search terms. But now it works, now it's beautiful.
I didn't simply fix the bugs and issues; I really put my brain on it to come up with the best method to develop a better AI.
It's enough for this weekend. Better take a break.

I reached 31 websites, 31 plugins for 31 different property lists, while the world is in economic melt down.
I still believe in Dubai,
I like what I'm doing in this project, It's a smart idea but i'm confused whether i get somewhere with it or not.
I have 50 thousand property records from around dubai on daily basis,
I can play with them, find out the most expensive or the cheapest house,
I can see who is selling more and who is selling what,
How can dubai recover again after people leaving it?
I'm really doing good and even by now i could expect someone to sponsor me, but the property market is disappointed, not me.

Actually not so amazing because I didn't leave the house at all. Just sat infront of the montior and looked at property lists.
But although it wasn't a happy weekend, I'm happy about it.
I could index 16-17 new websites now. It was only 4 and within 2 days it reached 17. That's a good sign,
This weekend it might reach 50 or so.
What worries me now is that the Mac Book Air can't crawl the whole list. My friend who was suppose to be back from Dubai by now is still there and my super computer is still in Dubai.
I need it more day by day :C
I'm still working on the design part of it. I think it looks better now but not sure yet. It's difficult to do everything with the smallest laptop in the world. But a geek can do so.

That was a successful web exprience, I made the site in 2004 and now it's 5 years that the site is up and running, from a very small and simple website to a very sharp well cutted design and thousands of photos.
I make Sedubai a nobel site too. I make it.
